4.1.0
Rebel Squadrons Academy Ranks:
4.1.1a These are general guidelines to the requirements of most of the Academy UnderGrad sections. Each UnderGrad has different requirements for graduation, and these requirements must be approved by the Undergraduate Department Head for the RS Academy and the RS Academy CO. Final authority on all graduation requirements rests with the RS Academy CO.
4.1.1b Any cadet who feels they are not at the rank they deserve, were not graduated in a timely manner, or did not graduate with the medal they feel to have earned, may appeal to the following persons in this order: Undergraduate Department XO--> Undergraduate Department CO--> RS Academy XO --> RS Academy CO. The RS Academy CO has final authority on the graduation status and internal rank of all training members of the RS Academy Fleet. Bylaws violations on the part of any member of the RS Academies will be immediately reported to the RS Academy CO, who will then treat the case as outlined in section five of the bylaws.
4.1.2 Flight Cadet - FCA: First rank for ALL new recruits. Recruits will enter the Academy with a rank of Flight Cadet, or the equivalent as pertains to other game bases (i.e. Commandos).
4.1.3 Senior Cadet - SCA: Academy internal rank. Awarded by Instructor, XO, or CO of respective Undergrad. Cadets must submit at least two mission reports or the equivalent. Requirements will vary from Undergrad to Undergrad, but these are the minimum requirements.
4.1.4 Master Cadet - MCA: Academy internal rank. In addition to completing the requirements of Senior Cadet, to obtain the Mastery rank cadets must submit at least 3 mission reports or the equivalent. Requirements will vary from Undergrad to Undergrad, but these are the minimum requirements.
4.1.5 Master Cadet (with Honors) - MCHA: Academy internal rank. In addition to completing the requirements of Master Cadet, cadets must submit the equivalent of three mission reports within an appropriate allotted time limit and a Biography. Cadets must also complete other requirements for this rank that are specific to the Undergrad they are in. Requirements will vary from Undergrad to Undergrad, but these are the minimum requirements.
4.1.6 Lieutenant Junior Grade - LJG Awarded to all Cadets upon graduation from the Academy.
4.1.7 Academy Honor Graduates (Master Cadet with Honors) carry with them recommendation for immediate advancement to Second Lieutenant upon placement in a Primary Squadron. This recommendation is reward for completing all Academy graduation requirements in a timely manner, and should be granted by the member's Primary Squadron Leader as soon as possible.
4.2.0
Rebel Squadrons Ranks:
4.2.1 All members of the Rebel Squadrons are required to choose a primary unit, or the member's favorite one, the one they will stay with for their RS career. If at any time a member wishes to choose their primary unit, the member may do so by emailing the CO of their former primary unit and the CO of the unit they wish to become their primary.
4.2.2 Many members are in several different squadrons, companies, or other units in the RS. In order to make sure that promotions occur at a timely basis, and to avoid getting promoted to a rank twice by two different unit CO's, all promotions must come from the primary unit or the primary unit's Chain of Command.
4.2.3 Promotions will occur on a one month cycle. The last week of every month, every officer in a command position is required to review every officer(who has designated the unit as their primary) under their command and grant appropriate promotions. Squadron CO's will review all officers for level 1 ranks. Wing CO's will review all officers for level 2 ranks. Fleet CO's will review all officers for level 3 ranks. The FC will review all officers for level 4 promotions.
4.2.4 Promotions can be granted and given out between cycles. The CO of the member must get this approved through the Fleet CO before granting it.
4.2.5 To receive a promotion to ANY rank, a person should consistently show that they are dedicated to the RS. This means being active over a period of time, and consistently reporting on missions, contributing to the Newsletter, and any other activities their Squadron / Company is involved in. One-time projects will be rewarded with the appropriate medal(s) as deemed necessary by their commanding officer. All promotions will be awarded for proven service only, and will not be given "just because" an officer has volunteered to lead a Squadron, Wing, or Fleet.
4.2.6 No member should ever attempt to solicit a promotion. Members will be promoted when his / her / it's leaders feel that it has been earned. Many of the above requirements are objective (certain things must be done), and much depends on how long the member has been at the current rank held, but there are enough subjective requirements that promotions may not be given for doing a minimum amount of work. Many people are after the same promotions/positions, and there are not enough Fleets, Wings and Squadrons, to support anything but an extremely limited number of them. While this system is rigid enough to ensure that "good leadership" qualities are rewarded, and "lack of leadership abilities are discouraged, it will also allow all members to rise to their full potential, and is flexible enough to accommodate any future growth potential. By this flexibility, it attempts to motivate officers to recruit so that Squadrons, Wings, and Fleets will be at full potential so that more may be added as needed
